09/29 & 30/ 17 - Beef-A-Rama - Minocqua
On the last Saturday in September the smell of beef fills the air and more than 12,000 people fill the streets of downtown Minocqua. For over 50 years, Beef-a-Rama™ has been a premiere event drawing visitors back year after year to join in on the one-of-a kind fun you can only find in the Northwoods. Roasters begin cooking their signature beefs before dawn. Herds of creative festival goers dressed in cow-themed costumes start packing downtown early for the 10K and 5K Rump Roast Run and Walk along Lake Minocqua, live music, & Prime Choice Craft Show featuring more than 70 vendors. Mooo-ve on down to Torpy Park to grab a roast beef sandwich and watch the Beef Eating Contest, Cow Pie Plop, and of course the famous Roaster Parade down main street!
09/30/17 - Harvest Hoedown - Rhinelander
Join in some old-fashioned fun for this harvest-themed event to benefit the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and NATH/Frederick Place. Pig roast, live music, line dancing,horse-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin patches, face painting, and more- the Harvest Hoedown will be fun for the whole family! All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the operations of the Food Pantry and NATH/Frederick Place.

10/05 thru 08/17 - Northwoods Art Tour - Boulder Junction
Area artisans open their studios and galleries for artist demonstrations, door prize drawings, and works for sale. Media includes paintings, ceramics, fiber art, wood, prints, and more. You can find Northwoods Art Tour locations in: Arbor Vitae, Boulder Junction, Eagle River, Elcho, Irma, Lac du Flambeau, Land O' Lakes, Manitowish, Manitowish Waters, Mercer, Minocqua, Rhinelander, St. Germain, Three Lakes and Tomahawk.
10/05 thru 08/17 - Pumpkin Run ATV Rally - Mercer
This rally is to ride and explore the 250 miles of ATV trails throughout Iron County. Friday night parade, weekend long poker run, great trails, food, games, prizes and more! Events take place in both Mercer and Hurley. Come ride for a Cure during Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Wisconsin's largest ATV trail system during the beautiful fall season.
10/05/17 - Pelican Lake Women's Civic Club Scholarship Fundraiser - Rhinelander

Pelican Lake Women's Civic Club will host the annual scholarship fundraiser luncheon & style show on Thursday October 5th at noon. The event will be held at Holiday Acres in Rhinelander. Silent auction, raffles and door prizes will be available. All proceeds will go to the scholarships for Elcho graduating seniors. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. 10/07/17 - Cran-A-Rama - Manitowish Waters
Celebrating the start of our fall color and cranberry harvest season with an arts and craft fair, and “Everything Cranberry” including a cranberry cooking contest, “Taste of Harvest” concessions featuring local restaurants and vendors from 11am–2pm, free cranberry marsh tours, free Fall Color Pontoon Rides sponsored by the Mantowish Waters Lakes Association, Lioness bake sale, fresh cranberry sales, self-guided fall color tours, cranberry samples and more! Sponsored by the Manitowish Waters Chamber of Commerce and the Manitowish Waters Cranberry Growers Association.
10/07/17 - Lincoln Lager Barleyfest - Merrill
Always wanted to try some micro brewery beers? Here is your chance. Join us at Lincoln Lager Barleyfest and be able to try over 100 different beers and/or wines. Sample fine foods from sponsors. Safe Ride programs available through local establishments. Merrill Go Rounds running for the event. Rain or shine, this event is held inside. Live music playing throughout the day. Raffle tickets available to win a kegerator and/or pub table. Past Barleyfest t-shirts for sale. $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
10/13 thru 31/17 - Haunted Sawmill - Vincent Resurrected - Merrill
Join us this October at the scariest haunted house in northern Wisconsin. Come and see horrors that abound as the Haunted Sawmill. Dare to enter the abandoned corridors of the sawmill where Vincent Mudgett was taken upon his return from the grave. Explore two floors of dark and dreadful rooms; avoid ghouls and vengeful spirits; and always keep a wary eye out for the Vincent and his friends that want you to help you become a permanent inmate. Vincent will be waiting for you ….
10/14 & 10/20/17 - Old Fashioneds in October - Eagle River
Northwoods bartenders will put their skills to the test in our Old Fashioned making competition. Each restaurant will be represented by two bartenders who are limited to two Old Fashioned recipes. Heavy hor d’oeuvres will be provided and there will be live entertainment with a supper club theme throughout the evening. The tasting competition will run from 6:00 – 8:30pm with the People’s Choice Award winners being announced at 9:00pm. Tickets are $40 in advance from the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center or online. Tickets at the door will be $45. Advanced designated driver tickets are $20 and $25 at the door. This is a 21 and over event.
10/14/17 - 10th Annual ATV/UTV Charity Ride for Make-A-Wish - Antigo
Help make a child's wish come true at the 10th annual ATV/UTV Charity Ride for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. Riders will have an option, either to ride on their own for the day or the Antigo Area ATV/UTV club will have members available as leaders for riders that are not familiar with the area. The ride is $25 per person or $50 per family (or pledges), which includes dinner. 8:45 am Saturday- Riders Meeting and Group Picture 5pm Saturday- Evening Events Begin Besides dinner, Saturday evening events include silent auctions, the Star Quilt raffle, 3 tables of raffles, and Expressions Dance Studio performance. All donations benefit Make-A-Wish Wisconsin who's mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
10/28/17 - Zombie Crawl - Land O'Lakes
This spooky Halloween event that starts with a “Zombification” process then shuttling the fresh "Zombies" from Land O’Lakes to Conover with adult “Trick or Treating” collecting “body parts” along the way. New this year is a Land O’Lakes ghost tour.
10/31/17 - Spooktacular Halloween - Presque Isle
Fun for the whole family! Trick or Treating at local businesses and Haunted Ice Fishing Shanties and games outside the Fire Barn. After trick or treating, park at St. Rita’s Church, grab a bite to eat, and take the luminary lit pathway to the Fire Barn.
11/17/17 - Venison Feed - Tomahawk
52nd Annual Venison feed. For over 50 years Tomahawk has welcomed hunters to the area with free venison burgers with chips and soda served from 11:30am until gone.
11/24 - 25/17 - Christmas Walk Kids Day - Boulder Junction
Christmas shopping house, activities, and lunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Community Center.
11/24/17 - Festival of Lights - Three Lakes
Kick off the holidays at Three Lakes' annual Festival of Lights! Enjoy Holiday music & karaoke, hot chocolate, and cookies. Live reindeer along with Santa's elves! Photo opportunities in Santa's sleigh. Stay warm by the huge firepit. Hamburgers, homemade chili and refreshments will be available. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by firetruck at 5:00pm followed by a countdown to the Lighting of the 95 ft tree and park decorations! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the park gazebo until 7:00pm to visit with children and listen to their Christmas wishes.
11/24/17 - Santa Comes to Town - Land O'Lakes
On Friday, Santa Comes To Town. He arrives in Land O’ Lakes by plane (1pm) at the Airport. A horse drawn wagon ride brings Santa and the children to the Town Tree for a lighting ceremony with singing of Christmas carols. After the tree lighting ceremony and visiting with Santa, the children and adults will be treated to hot chocolate and cookies and wagon rides for the balance of the afternoon. Gifts for the children.
11/25/17 - Christmas in Minocqua
Mark your calendars now and plan to bring the whole family for a visit with Santa Claus . Santa arrives downtown Minocqua at 1pm on a horse drawn carriage. Kids of all ages can visit with Santa at the Gaslight Square Mall in downtown Minocqua. Chestnuts roasting and other activities downtown. Walk with Santa to light the town tree!
11/25/17 - Light Up St Germain
Ring in the Holiday season here in St. Germain at our "Lighting Up St. Germain" Celebration including free horse drawn wagon rides from 2-4:30 (pick up/drop off at the Chamber office), 4pm Jingle Bell 3k Walk/Run, 5pm Holiday Parade followed by the town tree lighting and visit with Santa. The parade route start at Paul's Rent-All and "Jingle Jangle" down Hwy. 70 to the St. Germain Fire Department. At the parade's end, Santa will lead all of us in a few carols and the Christmas tree lighting. Santa and members of the Fire Department have invited all into the Fire Department for a FREE tour of the Department and holiday treats.
12/05/17 - Finnish Independence Day Dinner - Brantwood
Enjoy a celebration dinner at this 22nd annual event hosted by the Knox Creek Heritage Center including Mojakka [a Finnish beef stew] that is cooked outdoors in an iron kettle over a wood fire, homemade multi-grain bread, and creamy rice with fruit sauce is served family style. The homemade bread and cardamom braid is also available for sale. Enjoy a program following the meal which consists of a brief explanation of the importance of the event in Finnish history and the lighting of candles to commemorate Finland's independence from Russia in 1917, plus a presentation about the history of the areas settlers. Sponsored by the Knox Creek Heritage Center, an affiliate of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. All proceeds are used to maintain this historical site which includes buildings over 100 years old.
12/14 thru 17/17 - Lights of the Northwoods - Holiday Lights Festival - Rhinelander
Lights of the Northwoods - Holiday Lights Festival Join us in making Rhinelander shine for the Holidays! Our Preview Event in 2017 is taking place at Hodag Park in Rhinelander, WI from December 14-17, 2017. Bringing a special kind of happiness ... wonderful family events, sights, sounds, smells of the holidays ... all will make this a favorite tradition for families of the Northwoods for Years to come. This is a free event where food and monetary donations will be collected on site. Our Mission: - To provide a community holiday lighting festival - To feed the hungry of the Northwoods - To enhance the health and quality of life for children, youth, and elderly of the area - To benefit area programs, fellow non-profits, and businesses
12/15/17 - Christmas Celebration - Presque Isle
Enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride along our gorgeous snow-covered roads, complete with caroling and clear views of the night sky. Youth (ages 0 - 12) are also invited to enjoy a children's party featuring a special visit with Santa. The public is also welcome to take a ride on the sleigh which takes off every half hour beginning at 6:30pm. This event is co-sponsored by the Chamber, the Lions and Lioness, and the Community Library.
12/16/17 - Chili Cook Off - Antigo
Sample the season with chili, Antigo's Christmas parade, and lots of holiday music! Antigo/Langlade County Chamber presents its Annual Chili Cook-off. Teams will compete in either the roughneck division or traditional division. During the Chili Cook-off, the Antigo Optimist Club will be selling deep fried cheese curds at the corner of Clermont and 5th Ave. Salvation Army volunteers will also be baking and serving chocolate chip cookies all day at the same corner.
